Deadrop

We mentioned that DEADROP is a Vertical Extraction Shooter, but what does that mean? DEADROP is a FPS built in Unreal Engine 5 aiming to create a new type of experience for players. In essence, players will join each match with the goal of exfiltrating with any loot they were able to either loot or take from other defeated players. Players will join each match only with what they have been able to previously extract, from weapons themselves to ammunition and weapon attachments. If you are killed in combat or unable to extract before the time ends, everything taken with you into the match or acquired during will be lost. Players will be able to queue solo to take on the DEADROP arena by themselves or team up with friends for a cooperative experience.

At its current state, the game is clearly still in its infancy. You can see that in-game textures are missing, some of the weapons feel clunky, and movement has yet to be fully refined, but that is the beauty of this project. Being able to run around and explore the yet to be finished product is something we have never been able to experience within any game before. It is the closest thing you can get to being in the studio as they design and code, fully immersing you in the project.

As the project continues to develop, we will eventually be introduced to "The Eyes" or in-game guilds that are responsible for the creation of weapons, cosmetics and mercenaries of the Midnight Society. While it has not been directly stated, we assume these created assets will be that of NFTs that can be traded, bought, and sold within the Midnight Society and secondary marketplaces. Players will be able to exfil with these assets that they can then choose to do what they please. Information on the specifics of these processes are still limited, as the project is still in early stages of development with a strict focus on gameplay first and foremost.
