Battle For Oil
The second testnet to take place gave players a deeper look into the world of Cryptobots. By introducing ship battles, players now had to evaluate where their time and resources would be best spent and truly strategize to be successful. This competition was structured almost identically to that of the first testnet, but players would be fighting for OIL rewards rather than that of NFT land. While these rewards are less valuable than that of the first testnet, it allowed players a second go at learning and understanding the structure of the game.
In this competition, ship battles were without a doubt the primary focus. The points earned from winning battles and creating new ships was multitudes higher than that of bot battles, leading players to fight in a new style. At the same time, the cost to craft new ships came at a much higher cost, further incentivizing players to work within an alliance. As I mentioned before, the introduction of “energy” into these battles created an additional layer of skill required to achieve a top spot on the leader-board.
