Gameplay
Here is a breakdown of the main gameplay components associated with MetalCore
PvE Experience
Starting as a ground trooper, players will earn in-game rewards and experience in MetalCore’s open-world sandbox. Players can join in-game guilds called 'Baronies' to team up and tackle PvE challenges together. The PvE environment offers a 16km x 16km map to explore, with opportunities to encounter a variety of enemy types, complete missions, and gather resources.
PvP Experience
Upon reaching Level 4, players can engage in Faction Wars, large-scale PvP battles. Players can choose between three factions: Metal Punks, Gearbreakers, and The Holy Corporation (Holy Corp). Each faction grants passive bonuses and winning battles earn players a greater variety of vehicles to customize and level up. Faction Wars features a mix of traditional FPS multiplayer game modes, such as Base Defense, Domination, and Deathmatch, combined into one game mode in the Battle Zones.
Vehicles and War Machines
MetalCore offers nearly 50 vehicles, including mechanized combat walkers, armored fighting vehicles, VTOL gunships, fighter jets, and bombers. Each vehicle possesses special abilities shared across its class, such as jump jets, afterburners, optical stealth, and barrage fire. Players can earn these war machines and customize them through gameplay, with over 10,000 possible configurations.
Accessible Vehicle Combat with Depth
MetalCore features accessible, arcade-style controls for vehicles using simple, traditional FPS controls. The gameplay mechanics offer depth, with victorious outcomes driven by player skill and tactics, weapon loadouts, and the unique abilities of different playable vehicles and pilots.
Faction War
Faction War, the core PvP experience, is a large-scale conflict between the three major factions. Players join a faction and fight in connected zoned PvP battles, aiming to control as much of the open-world as possible. Each zone can have up to 100 players, with various modes of play and rules for victory. These rules may include controlling the most tactical points for a length of time, destroying the enemy base, defeating all enemy units before a timer ends, or when a team loses all its respawn points.
Tactical Points and Repair
Players can capture various types of buildings and tactical points, which are helpful in winning a match and may offer bonuses like boosted radar, healing, or quicker reloads. Tactical points include Respawn points, Repair zones, Recharge/Reload Stations, and more.
Vehicles in MetalCore take damage, with different mech types and vehicles having varying durability. Players can repair damaged vehicles at Repair zones or rely on engineers and special abilities to fix them. While outside of a vehicle, players are more vulnerable and must choose a Respawn point on the map after dying. Capturing new Respawn points allows players to spawn closer to the battle or at a deployed FOB vehicle.
Ammo and Resource Management
Most vehicles in MetalCore require reloading or recharging their ammo. Players must visit Recharge/Reload stations away from the battle before re-engaging the enemy. Resource management is crucial for survival and success in both PvE and PvP gameplay.
Character Collection and Customization
Players collect and own characters in MetalCore, which provide unique bonuses to their vehicles. Vehicles are fully owned by players and can be used in battle, rented out, or traded. In addition, players can stake their claim on land, build up empires, and earn rewards.
Garage and Barony System
The Garage serves as a central hub for vehicle use and rental, where players can maintain and store their vehicles. Players can join in-game guilds called 'Baronies' to coordinate and earn together. The Barony System functions similarly to a guild or clan system, with ranks, leaders, dues, and rewards.
Faction System
Players can invest time and resources in one of three factions available in PvP, aiming to climb the ranks and build their reputation. Each faction offers unique benefits, providing players with a diverse and engaging gaming experience.
